Three Kings

This is the story of three Kings at Christmas. One king was named Buzz, another Thunderbolt and the third Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.

King Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and King Thunderbolt are brothers and cousins to King Buzz by blood reckoning.  Not only do these three noblemen share bloodlines but they are also great friends. One would even call them buddies. King Buzz travelled from the shores of mighty Lake St. Clair and the Detroit River in the land of the Royal Oak Trees to meet with the Kings of the Eastern shores of the Western Cordillera south of the oil belts and riches of Mid Continent. Being so far apart from each other the three kings rarely met in person. Thus a meeting on mutual grounds in the magical lands harbored in the great bread basket plains bordering Salt Coats Lake was arranged. A great festival of feasting, fun and fantasy ensued.

Buzz, Thunderbolt and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer took on some mighty challenges at their Great Plains retreat. Buzz took his first ride on the mighty snowmobile. Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer was so daring on that horsepower charged beast he was nicknamed full throttle by the throng of on-lookers. Led by the eldest of the three King Thunderbolt, the three Kings took to the mountainous Great Plain with their personal videographer Sir Microphone. There they were shot sledding and sliding on their wondrous near frictionless carpets of speed. Whether it was snow or ice, giant boulders or precipitous drops no obstacle could stop the kings’ conquest of the slopes. King Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and his brother King Thunderbolt were even seen being pulled in daredevil fashion behind the snowmobile which was being expertly driven by Sir Big Friendly Guy.

When asked what he did on his vacation King Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer said, “I played with my slinky…and then I played with it a bit more…and then I played with the slinky again and then I played with it a different way.” Then he looked at me like he knew something that I didn’t. I think he did. When asked about Christmas Eve King Rudolph said, “I opened one present and then another…then I opened one more and then I opened some more presents and then another…”

On Christmas Eve the three Kings went to pay respects at the local house of worship.  At times the Kings especially young King Buzz were the stars of the show. King Buzz immediately took a liking to the young lady violinist in the orchestra and let his presence be known with displays of smiling and dancing. During the show King Buzz often let his presence be known with loud talking and reading of gibberish and non-sense and other carryings on. Though sometimes patient especially when feasting on snacks of crackers and juice King Buzz also participated in numerous timeouts away from the full to capacity “drop in” congregation and let his feelings of discomfort be known to all even head butting his father Sir Often in Over His Head on the way to one such occurrence. Kings Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and King Thunderbolt more used to such gatherings were able to handle the situation much better and enjoyed the good times by partaking in a little dancing and singing.

That evening the three Kings were paid a special visit. Santa Claus arrived during the star lit night via the lakeside lawn. Dressed in a bright red suit and with the growth of a full year behind his fluffy white beard he was unmistakable for the real thing. King Thunderbolt was very excited. King Rudolph snacked and offered to share. King Buzz was cautious but would exclaim “Santa!” for days afterwards and days later would again be on the lookout for the jolly fellow. Santa brought presents for all three Kings and even brought lumps of coal for Sir Big Friendly Guy and his father Sir Waffle Maker. Throughout the evening the three young Kings enjoyed opening many gifts and surprises (“prizes” in the language of King Buzz).

To top off the week of festivities the kings took a tour of the town of Bredenbury which was lit up in honor of the season if not for the visit of the three Kings. A day later it would be time for the honored to depart and head to the next stops of their tour. King Buzz returned to his palace in the suburbs of the Motor city and Kings Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and King Thunderbolt would be visiting their other winter palace in the Provincial capital of Rough Riderville. Veni, vidi, vici, they came they saw they conquered.

Peace and love all.
